Thank you so much, Azadeh, for making the long trip to Far Rockaway and inspiring our children and families! I had at least 6 children tell me that they've decided to become either authors or artists, as well as a few who are inspired to become singers like Googoosh! I am always so impressed that you are able to hold the attention of all ages and inspire everyone. Everyone left beaming with their signed books! Your presentation would go over so well at any other branch. It was a really special event!

Your Saturday Picture Book Spotlight this morning was a hit!! I loved it and on behalf of The Society of Illustrators a BIG THANK YOU so much for a truly inspiring and informative workshop. The audience really enjoyed it and they were thoroughly captivated!! It was wonderful to meet new families and talented young artists. It would be amazing to have you do another future workshop using your beautiful printmaking techniques and showcase your stunning collages!

We are still talking about last night! Wow! You didn’t just “pop in.” What you gave us changed the entire experience of the night. Hearing you speak, seeing your workspace, the behind-the-scenes photos, the videos of Googoosh… it took everything we had been studying and made it feel even more alive, more intentional, and more tangible.
People are still reeling today. It's been so fun to see everyone raving about it! Not just because you showed up, but because of how generous you were with your process. You gave everyone a deeper way into the book, and honestly, a deeper way into their own work too. I’ve already had people say they want to go back and read the book again with new eyes. And so many artists are excited to dive back into working with stamps since a lot of them said they gave that medium up before.

Such a treat to have you with us, Azadeh! It was special to have you return as a KidLit volunteer but extra special to have you as a panelist. What a terrific panel that was and have your work showcased. We’re grateful to have you!
